509 2” Gasket Ceiling System
The latest ceiling grid system is a new product designed
specifically for the heavier hanger load requirements of 300-mm
wafer transport systems. This unique grid system is comprised
of 2” wide clear anodized extruded aluminum tee members
that are stick-built using a unique cam-loc system. Once assembled
the grid forms a continuous gasketed ledge to receive filters
or lights for an ultraclean manufacturing environment. The
basic grid is designed to be walkable. With the addition of
a “Backbone” the system is capable of suspending
minienvironments and/or automated material handling systems
(AMHS) hangers at the room side of the grid. The “Backbone”
is a retrofit member that bolts to the top of the grid using
the integral nut slot extruded into the grid. They can be
factory installed or retrofit in the future without effecting
adjacent filters. Hangers may be placed anywhere below the
grid to suspend Minienvironments or AMHS. Hangers are provided
at 48” on center in both directions. The wall headtrack
and appurtenances are attached using Bosch™ tee nuts
and the integral nut slot extruded into the grid. This unique
grid connection speeds installation and permits future modification
of the grid layout.
Air-Frame™
508 Flushlight Ceiling System
This grid was designed to provide uniform airflow for Class
10 or better applications. The Air-Frame™ 508 is a flush,
gel or gasket seal ceiling grid system with integral lights,
sprinklers and ionizers. Both are comprised of 2.5”
(62.5mm) wide extruded aluminum tee members that form a continuous
gel trough or gasket ledge to structure to receive filters
for ultraclean manufacturing environments. The ceiling plane
of the (508) is completely flush to mitigate interference
when placing walls, minienvironments or wafer transport systems.
Hangers and walls can be placed below light fixtures, without
impeding lamp replacement. Each grid member comes pre-cut
from the factory, there is no drilling or tapping required
for installation. The members are simply bolted together using
the unique connection bars and integral nut slot continuous
along the top of the grid extrusion. Plenum tops are capable
of supporting recirculating air handling units (AHUs) and
also serve as integral catwalks. A gasket seal is not suitable
for most plenum configurations.
Air-Frame™
510 Light-Weight Ceiling System
The lightweight gasket-seal ceiling grid system comprised
of 2” wide extruded aluminum tee members and extruded
aluminum perimeter angles that form a continuous gasketed
ledge to receive HEPA or ULPA filters, blank pans or tiles
and light fixtures, to meet requirements of varying “less
stringent” clean environments. Tight tolerances combined
with the simple assembly methods result in expeditious installation
and shorter ramp-up times. Each grid member comes pre-cut
from the factory; there is no drilling or taping required
for installation. The members are simply snapped together
using specially designed clips and pre-punched extrusions.
The pre-punched extrusions allow for filter sizes 2’x
2’, 2’x 4’ and 4’x 4’ as required.
An extruded wall angle is used at the perimeter of the room.
The 510 system comes with factory installed gaskets and clips
making onsite installation up to 3 times faster than comparable
systems. The system is hung from 12 gauge hanger wire on 4’
centers, troffer lights and filters should be independently
supported per governing codes.
Air-Frame™
511 Gel Grid Ceiling System
The Air-Frame™ 511 is a 2” wide gel-seal ceiling
grid system comprised of 2” (50mm) wide extruded aluminum
tee members that are either bolted or welded together to form
a continuous gel trough to receive knife edge HEPA or ULPA
filters for ultraclean manufacturing environments. Caulk is
used on the upstream side of the grid to seal the gel trough
joints during “gel-set”. Once the gel has set,
all joints are sealed by gel, not caulk. Without additional
structure or hanger rods the 511 grid, when hung on 48”
centers is capable of carrying 510 pound point load at 48”
on center from special hanger designed universally to attach
to the grid. The stick-built configuration is available as
factory assembled modules or as a field-laid system. Sprinkler
penetrations occur at grid intersections or blank pans.
